My nephew happens to have a current obsession with anything Star Wars & made sure to let me know when I asked what he wanted for his most recent birthday.
He was turning 8 so he's at the age where he's beginning to pay more attention to his room & how it looks. Since my brother & his wife had just purchased a new home this was the perfect time for me to whip up some super awesome Star Wars room decor for him.
Today I'll show you the signs I made for his door & wall.
For both signs I used scrap wood I had lying around. I knew I wanted to make him a door plaque and a little something for his wall.
I don't have a lot of pictures because this was right before I started the blog, but I have enough to give you the rundown on the how-to.
Both boards were painted with 2 coats of Krylon Satin black.
Once they were dry, I used my cricut to cut out the stencils I would need.
I used distant galaxy font I downloaded from Da Font.
It's the closest one I could find, but I think it's a dead ringer.
you can download it here:
I just cut out the vinyl & used it as a stencil.
Since this stencil had so much open space, I used painters tape to keep the rest of the board protected.
I used Krylon brilliant metallic silver spray paint since I was going for a 'space' look.
I love this color! It turned out bright & shiny!
I put some simple hangers on the back of each & called it good.
A couple of simple signs to help dress up his new room.
I didn't stop there though, I made a few more gifts for him that I'll be posting about in the next 2 days.
Until next time.
