"Little Blue" (Dresser)

Hello peeps, I hope the beginning of a brand new week finds you all well rested & ready to rock it. I mentioned a custom dresser I did for a client & now it's time to show it off to you.
I think I'll do this the same way I did my pink dresser. I'll give you the prettie's then write another post on the how-to for those that are interested.
I decided back in May to put some of my items in an antique store. Well antique/flea market type/vendor spaces kind of store. There was a little something for everyone I guess you could say. The very next day after setting up my space, I got a call from the store owner telling me a customer came in & purchased my pink harlequin dresser, blue stand, a few other items & was also interested in getting a blue dresser to match the pink one. She was getting it for her son & wanted it done in the blue to match the stand.
I started work on 'the beast' to turn it into more of a beauty.
Here's how it turned out.

We got lost when we went to deliver it & had to call for directions....twice. Thank goodness someone there was not as geographically challenged as I am & we made it.
When we pulled into the drive, the sweet girl who ordered it came walking around the house with an adorable little blond haired, blue eyed boy in her arms.
I mean curly blond hair & sparkling blue eyes.
The kind of sparkling that made him look like a future little heart breaker with just enough mischievousness in him to keep you on your toes.
I have a feeling he keeps his mama running.
It was so nice to finally put a fae with the voice I'd been hearing over the phone.
She loved it & I think her little guy might have even thought it was pretty cool too.

I absolutely love, love, love doing the custom work! Being able to take a persons' vision & make it a reality, is an amazing feeling.
Knowing they will have a piece of furniture that will last for years to come leaves you with a good feeling.
A piece of furniture that was their creative idea, a piece of furniture that will be a part of a home & a family & in this case; watch a little boy grow into a big boy.
I love that feeling!

Thanks for being such an amazing client Whitney!
It was so much fun creating this dresser for your little guy & I look forward to our next project together.
All right, I'm off to paint some more diamonds.
I know, I need help, but I'm addicted to them. What other design element can be so fun & whimsical or so sleek & sophisticated? None that I can think of.
See ya next time!
